Three years ago today...

almost.

2/18/06
I was heading out to a wedding, but first posed with our lizard.
2/19/06
Marcus was impersonating Dr. Satre...for those of you who know him, you'd appreciate this.

Interesting how we don't look too different... :)

On the LAST day of Valentines, my true love gave to me...

...We went out to dinner with a gift certificate to a new place in Libertyville called Sushi Thai. Thanks to my student who gave it to me for Christmas! :)

What a fun week it was!

Now back to reality. :)

On the 5th day of Valentines...

We went to a party!

My sister hosted a fabulously fun Valentines party. It was wonderful!

I made some funfetti cupcakes...

Then I got ready...

When we got there, everything was just adorable!

Dan and Brittney (my sis) = the hostesses with the mostest!

Me with my hot date

Marcus's sister, Becca, with her fiance, Travis

The darling decorations were bountiful!

She put together this "Newlyweds" game with 40 questions! (We lost.)

...and she made some yummy desserts and arranged them in a heart shape. :)
We had such a blast!

Only one more day of Valentines left for us...stay tuned! :)

On the 4th Day of Valentines, my true love gave to me...

...what I would consider the most random thing EVER! :)

He had a show so he was out late...at a coffeehouse where his band was playing, he bought this RANDOM magnet. HAHA. It is really funny. It is really tiny. My camera couldn't even focus on it while it was magnetizing to our fridge. It is about the size of a nickel, maybe smaller.

He said it made him crack up and reminded him of us...not sure how...the man in the pic has a little cut on his face and the woman is just mortified that he is injured. LOL.

Hope it makes you laugh.

Mortgaging Our Sanity

Howdy ho, all!

Today I am home for the afternoon! It feels great to be done with conferences and have a 3 (and a half?) day weekend ahead of me. It is much needed.

I got a lovely email last night from good ole' TIU stating that since I am taking only one class this semester (lazy me, I know) my loans have been returned. Fabulous. So now, I owe $1,300. Well, that is just perfect considering we are trying to figure things out for a MORTGAGE. So, naturally (or not naturally, but graciously) I prayed about it all day today that things would somehow work out. I mean, we sure don't have a spare $1300 laying around just dying to go into TIU's pocket (they've already gotten so much!). :) So, I went to Trinity after work and said that I need to setup a payment plan. Well, long story short, no I don't. AND, I can pay as little or as much as I want or can until the semester is over. Well isn't that dandy! :) No payment plan, or having to pay it all upfront (which was my fear), but just send in the money when I get it.
Okay, I can handle that.

On the mortgage front, we are waiting to hear if we are pre-approved. If you know of anyone who's going to be looking to rent a house in Moline, IL for the next year or so, please let us know. If you don't, please help us pray for someone! :)

If you are confused by all of this, that is understandable, because I am leaving out many details (intentionally). I will update readers more when things start happening...and maybe still somewhat vaguely as you never know who reads these things. :)

Happy day to all! Enjoy your Valentines Eve! I will be spending mine at the gym and getting caught up on The Office I missed last night while Marcus is playing a show up in Kenosha.

On the 3rd day of Valentines, my true love gave to me...

Today it was my turn to give. In order to keep costs down, we're going the cheap route. Today I brought Marcus home this Coke, which I got for free from work. :)

And then, the most exciting thing occurred!! We got a package delivered from my mom!!!!! It was Valentines towels and place mats!!

The flowers are from my "Secret Sweetie" at work who has been giving me little surprise goodies all week. What a fun week this has been! :)

On the 2nd day of Valentines, my true love gave to me...

When I walked in the door from orchestra tonight (Tuesday),
I was greeted by this on my laptop as it sat on our couch:

Then, I was led to the kitchen where I saw a pair of these:
So cute!! Little heart cakes from Deerfields Bakery. Delicious!!

On the 1st day of Valentines my true love gave to me...

HAPPY VALENTINES WEEK!

This year, is lieu of my favorite holiday, we are doing the Six Days of Valentines. We are giving something to each other, alternating giver/recipient each day, and then the end of the week will end with some special events, to be described later.

First, on Monday, I started out the week by giving Marcus these cute heart-shaped bowls from Target and his fave ice cream, Cookies 'n Cream.

We enjoyed the treat after a trip to the gym. :)

Grad Class Adventures...

Sorry it's been awhile!

I've been studying.

And attending class. After today I will have put in about 16 hours of class since Thursday!
But, it's okay because then I'm done attending class until March when I have the second round of modular classes. This semester I'm taking Ethical Theory, which I like. I've really liked all of the classes I've had in my program so far, which is a blessing. Even though they're hard at times, they are at least enjoyable.

At work things have also been insane. The kids are sick of indoor recess and are being pretty crazy and naughty. My patience is wearing very thin due to stress of things piling up at work and grad school, so I've been snapping at them more than I should. I feel bad. I'm trying to keep smiling and keep pushing ahead.

On a fun note, I found out that I get to have a "jr. blocker" starting in a couple weeks. I'm excited about that. I get to have a Trinity education student come to my class twice a week for a couple of months. Should be fun. :)

Alrighty...time for class to start! :)
